Sarault picked up a silver medal as part of Canada's mixed relay team earlier in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Xandra Velzeboer of the Netherlands won gold in the 500m final after setting a new world record (41.399 seconds) in the semifinals. Italian speedskating icon Arianna Fontana took silver for the 13th medal of her Olympic career.
Canadian Kim Boutin, who was seeking her third consecutive Olympic medal in the 500, crossed the line in fifth.
Minutes later, in the last race Thursday evening, Canada's William Dandjinou finished just off the podium in the men's 1,000m final, ending up fourth. The 24-year-old, who was also part of the aforementioned mixed relay team, led for the majority of his race but was overtaken on the final lap.
Canada now has seven total medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics - three silver, four bronze - but is still awaiting its first gold.
