Three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence requested a trade from the New York Giants, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Lawrence reportedly plans to skip the Giants offseason workout program that kicks off Tuesday.

The two sides have tried to negotiate a new deal in the past two offseasons but haven't made any progress, sources told Schefter.

Lawrence, 28, is under contract for two more seasons. His current deal includes a base salary of $18.5 million but has no guaranteed money remaining, according to Over The Cap. He originally signed a four-year, $90-million extension with New York in 2023.

Teams inquired about Lawrence before last season's trade deadline, notes NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.

Lawrence has established himself as one of the NFL's best interior defensive linemen since entering the league as the No. 17 overall pick in 2019. An elite run defender and disruptive pass-rusher, he collected 21 sacks and 65 quarterback hits while claiming three Pro Bowl berths and two second-team All-Pro nods from 2022-24.

Lawrence is coming off a down season; he finished 2025 with 0.5 sacks after recording a career-high nine in 2024.
