Fury handles Makhmudov, challenges Joshua to blockbuster fight

Tyson Fury's return to boxing ended in victory for the former heavyweight champion, who defeated Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in front of a packed house Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

The judges scored the fight 120-108, 120-108, and 119-109 in favor of the Gypsy King, who pushed his professional record to 35-2-1.

Fury's win - his first since back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024 - sets up a potential superfight against Anthony Joshua, whom Fury challenged following the victory.

Joshua, a former heavyweight champion in his own right, defeated Jake Paul by knockout in December 2025. Prior to beating Paul, Joshua was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

A bout between the two British heavyweights has been on boxing fans' radar for several years.

Fury said he would retire again if the Joshua fight doesn't happen.
